    GD cufftitle

A friend of mine recently picked up this Cufftitle and asked me for my opinion. There are a few things that bother me, but not enough to declare it a copy. Anyone else have an opinion, pro or con?

    here are some pictures

well...in my opinion, copies have become very, very sophisticated. The backside is so cleanly done that I think it better than the originals. The front embroidery is very accurate, but I think the piece is let down becuase the tightness of the embroidery is just not there. The clos-up of the stitching leaves a little to be desired.
Overall, it just looks less than 60 years old...but very nicely done.

As always, I could be wrong, but would not keep it in my own collection.

                      Hi Scott,

I appreciate your comments. I had the same concern about the tightness of the embroidery work myself. Now I tried to find a GD CT in my collection that closely matched the one my friend has. An I do have one but its a variant. Hold onto your hat, its certainly not textbook. The band itself looks like modern felt but its wool. The moths have gotten to it a bit.The back is about as far away from textbook as you can get. I like it but I understand if you don't share the same views.Anyway I would appreciate any comments-good or bad. Jim Heres the full length shot.

Close up so you see the embroidery work.

A detailed shot of some of the stitching and backing. There are no fold downs on the back. Jim
