What is this patch?

I just bought a grouping that had this patch in it. Looks to be some kind of cavalry mountaineering div patch? Any one know what it is?

I've never seen another;
Hopefully, someone will be able to identify it.
If you obtained it in an "out of the woodwork" grouping, the other items might
provide a clue...
IMO, it is possibly a "locally made" piece for a small unit.
The Kavallerie / Gebirgs connection is obvious.
Carsten Fries is a knowledgeable source on the Kavallerie.
Maybe he can ID this piece.

Doesn't look like any Gebirgskavallerie patch that I know.

To my eye, I think it has something to do with a Polo club.

That is an English recreational type of saddle. I would guess an outdoor climb for riding and hiking/climbing not necessarily military.
