I did some basic research and found this:

            http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...nter/KavR6.htm

            Regimentskommandeure:

            Major Löbbecke (1920)

            Oberst von Knobelsdorff (1920)

            Oberst von Stephany (1921) - (1925)

            Oberstleutnant Eberhard von Livonius 1. März 1926 - 31. Januar 1927

            Oberst Walter Braemer 1. Februar 1927 - 31. Dezember 1930

            Oberst Winfried von der Schulenburg 1. Januar 1931 - 31. März 1934

            Oberst Werner Hannemann 1. April 1934 - 15. Oktober 1935

Oberst Arno von Lenski 15. Oktober 1935 - Auflösung

            Abteilungskommandeure

            I. Abteilung:

            Major von Metzsch (1939)

            II. Abteilung:

            Oberstleutnant Heinrich-Hermann von Hülsen 6. Oktober 1936 - 1. August 1938

            Major Maximilian Reichsfreiherr von Edelsheim 29. Juli 1938 - 10. November 1938 m.F.b.

Oberstleutnant Friedrich Freiherr von Broich 12. November 1938 - Auflösung

            Regimentsadjutanten:

            Rittmeister von Waldow (1924)

            Rittmeister Friedrich Freiherr von Broich 10. Januar 1925 - 30. September 1928

            Oberleutnant von Bischoffshausen (1929, 30, 31)

            Oberleutnant Freiherr von Bülow (1932)

            Rittmeister Heinrich-Walter Bronsart von Schellendorff 1. Oktober 1934 - 1. Oktober 1937

            Oberleutnant von Meyer (1938)

do any of these look like they could be a possible match?

Superb display William. The early helmet really sets it off.

                Stunning display, William.

Your next fairly difficult project will be sourcing a medal bar with a couple of Turkish medals to complement the Turkish Star.

                Regards, Mike

Given the date when the Waffenrock was introduced for wear, William, I would say it would be one of the two last Obersts on the list, unless one of the Abteilungskommandeure continued to wear the "6" after promotion.

                      star

The Turkish award on the right breast should make it rather easy to verify the wearer. I will look in a book issued by the Kameradschaft of KR 6 to see if he is pictured.

That's assuming the Iron Half Moon is original to the tunic. William, did all the awards come with it?

No, I had a blank spot for a screwback award and simply put a nice badge there. No clue what other awards would go in this location (I doubt he was a Spain cross recipient and I am unfamiliar if there are screwback Imperial decorations worn in this location.

Great logic about the possible ID with the waffenrock introduction date, Don.

                          Thank you.

Beautiful display. Well done. I think the name tag is gone forever unfortunately...

This was in my collection for 10 years and in another advanced collection before that. It is a killer Commanding officer tunic.
