    Panzer or LW boards

    These just sold on Estand as panzer? I think they are LW with army tress.

            I think they have a chance. Factory Luft tropical with tailor added Heer tress.

              I think Willi could be right. The tress has warped the tension at the round end.

                Also the color of the thread which was used in the tress application is not from the factory.

                  Warped tresse also could be a sign that it's postwar added. The tresse application does not appear to be from a skilled tailor to me. Original LW straps upgraded at some point. Maybe post war in the attempt to turn them into Herr Pz (Art).

                    Always a possibility, Tim - but not every up-grade was done by the CT, so it came down to the skill level of the person doing the sewing.

                      I agree.

                      When my Father was stationed in Greece and then Italy, he told me the Geschwader employed locals to be their tailors. For uniform repairs and rank upgrades. I am sure there were various skill levels in the process.
