The first pair look good, hard to tell with the dark photos, but seem ok, imo.

Agree, the first pair shown look good. Would like to see the pair on the wrap removed and opened up, front and reverse.

His question was basically the following: "I have a WH black panzer wrap in my collection, but I was told by a friend that the shoulder straps are not correct just because they have "Field grey backing". He said "Field grey on the bottom and black at the top is for SS". That's the reason why I wanna buy a correct matched pair for my wrap."

Hope this will better inform the posting. J

The second pair on the wrap does also have the WSS cut with narrower straps and zig zag stitching , not only the feldgrau base .

The first pair looks like a pair Weitze had for sale a while ago; I thought they looked good when he had them.

                    Hi all,

First of all, I thank Jacques for starting this thread for me. Due to the new rules of WAF, I cannot post pictures as I'm not association member.

I have a WH panzer wrap with "Field grey backing" shoulder straps for years, I've always thought those "Field grey backing" straps are usually for WSS but not absolutely, as I have for sure seen some original middle to late war Heer PZ wraps with EM/NCO shoulder straps that had field grey undersides.

However, I was recently told by some experienced collector friends that my shoulder straps were typical WSS, and there's no evidence that they used for Heer. That's why I asked Jacques to start this discussion.

The first pair is the one that I came across on Weitze, I'd like to purchase them if my shoulder straps are not correct. But I'm not sure if the straps on Weitze are matched pair, they look in different length, the tongue reinforcement materials are different either.

I have asked Jacques to post more pictures of my "Field grey backing" shoulder straps, please wait and see. Any of your opinions would be much appreciated!

                    Best regards to all,
                    Yun

P.S: How can I become an association member? May I pay the yearly subscription via paypal? Thanks!

Here are some more pics of my "Field grey backing" shoulder straps, do you think they are typical WSS not for Heer?
