    Medic shoulder boards.

Hi, these have been in a glass display unit for many years, first time I have looked closely at them for a long time. I'm assuming that they would not have left the factory as they are now and that at some time they were cut and someone has stiched on a replacement piece of cloth? I believe that they came off of an M43 tunic that a dealer was selling.

Fairly often, after the War started the sewn in boards used for walking out and parade tunics were converted with a tongue added to be used on field tunics. I cannot tell 100% in your photos but it looks like that is what was done with these. the other option might be a period repair. The materials look wartime and not post war.

Hi, thanks for your reply, wanted to make sure they were ok before I put them up for sale. Regards David.
