      No.

A better response would be; Why would anyone think that this item has any relation or connection to a WWII German military leather overcoat?

I agree it's German. I can not say for sure that it is not from the WWII era, but I suspect closer to the 60s or 70s. German military leather greatcoat will be more or less identical cut and style to a German military wool overcoat. Twelve buttons turn back cuffs half belt same length flapped side pockets

I'm more inclined to believe this is a 50/60 Police coat

Something totally unrelated to the wartime German Wehrmacht!
but real leather and from Berlin!

You may be able to find patent markings on the back of that belt clasp. The ones that I have found (like that one) or Bundes patent marked. This is also actually what was often referred to as a "car" length coat (shorter) and this length was popular in the 60s-70s and beyond (with some!) but is not normally seen on many items up till then.

You can find these coats in most any German mens clothing catalog from the 60s and 70s and there have been a thousand offered on Ebay over the last 15 years if there has been one.
