Regimental Cyphers Question

Some questions for the forum. Were Heer regimental shoulder board cyphers worn throughout the war? Who wore them (up to what rank etc)? Thanks!

Metal yphers were worn by most all officer and NCO ranks throughout the war.

The rules and regulations are all listed in the Angolia Schlicht Heer book. They were changed many times through the War.
