DAK Uniform Usage Question

Hello,

Can someone explain the issuing of Tropical German uniforms to me. When we're the different styles issued to troops? By 1942 did most in Africa wear the M41/2 style tunics? Or the M40 style? I'm trying to put together a short film and have been trying to keep it as historically accurate as possible!

Hi Justin,
The most common tunic in wear in Africa was the 1st pattern tunic (assume you mean the 1940 model). Although 2nd and 3rd pattern tunics were in wear and use by late 1942, these were uncommon in comparison to the 1st model which was still being manufactured in 1942.
A quick look through period photos will answer your questions - always go to period photos for accuracy - the rest is academic generally.
