Does the black tailor shop tag cover the area of a machine sewn nametag inside the pocket ?

I have a summer weight officers tunic which has a similar collar without any backing or stiffener materials under the collar except for under the collar tabs.

PS I don't like how the collar tabs were configured, attached to that generals tunic. In my opinion the generals tabs should have been sewn in a similar manner as the previous fieldgrade officers tabs which were removed from this tunic. The generals tabs should have been sewn parallel to the top edge and leading edge of the collar. From my own personal experience of being in the Army for 33 years, the smallest uniform violations really stand out with me, so I'm sure that a general officer with similar time in service would want his uniform and insignia to be right on the money.

Pretty much everything has been pointed out in the previous comments already. In addition to there horrible application of the (nicely executed original) collar tabs, they also don't show ANY wear whatsoever (while the collar does). Collars were changed when they were worn down & you would clearly see wear (especially if the back tip is sticking out like this)!

Also, I have never seen a period Kuhn & Nupnau tailor's tag like this. That font looks awfully 1950ies/60ies to me...

I did a quick online search to illustrate what I am talking about and came across this historically significant piece (credit goes to: http://www.germaniainternational.com...ecoathat07.jpg)

Kurt, I am amazed that you waded through the dozens of pages of that horrendous website to find Hitler's frock coat!

Nothing is impossible, but which Generalleutnant or General as such would wear an EK 2 (1939) ribbon through the button hole on his tunic? -- That was the first thing that put me off, followed by the other details which wear already expressed by other members.

Well, I will say the kicker was the breeches, which I think were legitimate, but they were a US size 36, which means they would fit me with room to spare. The tunic is a tight US 38, so unless the guy was at least six feet tall and had an incredibly large arse, there's no way that the set came down through the ages together since 1945...

I subscribe to all previous comments .... totally reworked tunic.

also, note that the ranks pips appear to be a worn officer ones. has not the configuration expected for a general. concerning the eagle, I'm not experienced in late national eagles for generals but, this one has the apperance of the KM's ones on feldgrau backing .... not for me.

I don't understand this comment. Why wouldn't they wear an EK2 ribbon through their button hole?

Maybe a General Leutnant must have an EK II of 1914 ?

The Generalleutnant in question was awarded the Spange to his WWI EKII - he should have a black/white ribbon with the Dirty Bird Spange.

Ah I see. I didn't realise that the tunic was named. Thank you. It sounded as if the original comment was indicating that no self respecting General would wear a 1939 EK2 ribbon.
