    HBT Gebirgsjager -opinions please

Any remarks and opinions wanted as this has some strange features. Buttons are all white winter camo buttons originally, eagle seems replaced, and your comments will be appreciated.

Not much hope here...The Polizei tinny is good! (and the common ribbon bar and edelweiss
+ relic ground dug buttons that were added...)

                  Hello,

The eagle looks like a reproduction to me. The tunic looks like it is made of American HBT and the pattern is very visable on the inside. I could be wrong but I believe it to be reproduction

                    thanks Fred

Fred thanks, wasn't sure regards eagle, but thread patterns show it was replaced for certain.

White thread is cotton, other thread nylon. Do you think the tunic may be real with replaced crap insignia and eagle?

Has anyone ever seen an original sewn like this one is???

Appreciate thoughts as I just bought this and having real concerns about it being WW II, couldn't tell from photos but always can get good impressions in hand, but this one doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy.

The buttons appear to have zinkpest not winter cammo, so most likely relic and one thing i dont like is the sewing along the inner selvage flap. Im sure originals had a raw edge. That also looks like a modern (For post war anyway) surge stitching.

Im with Fred on his points as well.

                      Keep looking.

                      Regards KK

The tunic is a reproduction with some authentic insignia attached such as the what has been mentioned already though I would include the collar tabs. Additional photos of the shoulder straps might determine if those are authentic as well. Steve

                          Hello,

The collar tabs are reproduction and the tresse is the elongated diamond style.

                            I gotta' agree!

Thanks everyone for great answers and info. I believed it was a repro also, but wanted to hear from others before giving my opinion. My flags were the different color thread used, closeness of cuff buttons, machine sewn serge edge, new nylon lining, and new condition of the tunic compared to the extremely well worn collar insignia with new dish buttons and relic pebbled ones.

Again, appreciate all remarks and thoughts.
