M36 Tunic

Hello!

Can anyone tell me why this M36 heer tunic has 7 butons? The tunic is a small size if that makes any difference. I can post more pics later tonight if needed.

I think is a Reichswehr tunic remodeled to service with the Heer. Show us the back and sure someone can give you a more expert answer.

Looks like a converted Waffenrock to me due to the waist seam. If you can post pictures of the back as well as a close-up of the wait seam in front, that may help - I am wondering if one of the button holes was sewn shut, although I did own an Austrian-tailored Waffenrock that had only a seven button front.

I'm with Don. The seam on the waist and the different color of the cuff tells about a conversion from a former Waffenrock.

There are only 7 button holes. It may be because this is a very small size. I have it in a kids (10-12) mannequin.

Oh geez that is tiny!
Looks like a good converted waffenrock though.
I couldn't help but notice even the seven buttons look a little big based on how small the tunic is. Must have been a little bitty person!
