Hello everyone! I recently met up will a seller that has both an infantry officer's field tunic and an EM waffenrock that I am interested in. I think the field tunic is an m36 because of the dark collar? But maybe someone else can clarify because I know sometimes they would change out the collar. It also has what I think is the mountain troops Edelweiss patch on the arm. I was just curious about the authenticity of both the tunics themselves along with the insignia. He is selling them both for what I think is just a tad under market value, but I wanted to get your opinions before purchasing. If you want any more specific pictures let me know. Thanks a lot!

Hi,
The Officers tunic started life as an issue tunic that was altered by the addition of an Officer's quality dark green collar. The tunic has been shortened radically and no longer has the inner wound pouch. The KVK ribbon and Edelweiss were probably collector added later to jazz it up some. The Waffenrock appears to be a nice original with no issues.

Thanks for the comment Marion. Yes a friend of mine pointed out that it was shortened, since the belt holes on the lining don't have corresponding ones on the front of the tunic. Do you think the collar and length were period altered, and do you think the breast eagle and shoulder boards are original at least? Also, is this a M36, or an M40 with a switched out collar? I always have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks.
