    panzer shoulderboards

I got these shoulderboards. They look old but altered. The braid looks like it was reattached backwards, so there is no button hole. Looks like there were 2 rank stars on it (oberst?).

Under the pink fabric there is a green one. What do you think, original but altered or totally fake?

          Russia braid

That is not the typical type of Russia braid that one sees on ranks Major through Oberst. I have seen that type of base cloth used, not as frequently. These could be a tailor made pair, with the tailor using their own "style" and materials. If you are wanting them for your own collection and happy with them then you are the final judge. For resale it could be more problematic. All this is IMHO...

Here are some examples of boards of similar rank with a more standard "Russia braid"

They are unusual but i like them !
Locally made with the round silver piping found on the WH Schützenschnur normally .
Why not ? Something different ...

              I like them as well.
              Unusual, to say the least.

So did the buttons just sit under the braid, or did they sit on top of the braid and have a long pin to go through the braid and attach to the tunic? I think the latter as I see wear to the top of the braid, but not something I've seen before.
