the boards that are tied are smoke troops. The pips on the GD Hauptmann are Bakelite and the Stalingrad H u.DM cyphers are not thin stampings.

These Stalingrad Cypher's are non magnetic,is that a good or bad sign?

There were very few "oberst's" commanding PZ Reg 5, bright silver for the boards, typical of early formal wear Heer tunics, and Luftwaffe . Pink also very light. So have a good look at the cypher "5"

So basically they should have the same look and configuration to the Infantry major boards directly underneath them in the picture?...
