Luftwaffe Foreign Volunteer Shoulderboards

Hello,

Does anyone know if foreign volunteers used LW collar gulls as rank pips on their volunteer boards? I assumed these were GI added, but the wool has no wear or fading with full nap under them, and they are well worn into the boards.

Any ideas?

I think just GI added. Never seen an photos or other boards with the gulls. No reason for them really.

Thanks, it would appear so. I have not seen enough of the foreign volunteer versions of these boards in photo wear to know, and though the gulls may of served in some way as rank.

But I can certainly accept GI added.
