    Italian Carabiniere uniform "modello 1945"

Got this from the Italian Miles Forum...Very interesting...
The Italian Carabiniere adopted Eisenhower like short uniforms in 1945 which looked like this!
They look like British Battle dress uniforms with a tightening buckle along the waist line! = "Allied" look!

Well apparently they also adopted German M44 (left-over) uniforms for these police troops! Which is why I am posting it here!
Note even with the German pebbled buttons intact! Adding Italian rectangular collar patches!

Who knew? Italian Carabinieri 1947-1948 with converted M44 uniforms! Heer or Polizei pattern? My guess probably the latter!
      Pretty interesting!

Here 2 more images of Italian Military Police in the early post war years wearing M44 German tunics!
        Note German buttons!

Final post (again from the Italian Miles Forum). I thought this was a pretty interesting revelation. So if you encounter M44 tunics with ghosts of rectangular collar insignia (and tampered shoulder strap loops) its probably recycled Italian post war use!

All right Nick; in post n.1 the boys aren't carabinieri but policemen (another italian police force): they have on the cap an angel, Carabinieri have a grenade with flame.

Here is a tunic I sadly traded away. Wish I still had it. Beat and destroyed but neat item.

The "Corpo di sicurezza trentino" wasn't post war but was a Wehrmacht auxiliary police corp in the Alpenvorland with italian men and german uniforms and equipments.

Yes that "Corpo di sicurezza trentino" is indeed a war time security unit in the Italian part of Tyrol which had police duties during the RSI period!
which explains their police green wool!
The M44 has an altered collar, so I am thinking it was modified and used post war with the Italian police...(collar/lapel shape more in line with their other post war uniforms)
and the Trentino armshield (and shoulder boards loops) later added? or re-restored to its original configuration!
