A Waffenrock that was made for an NCO will have a gap between the top of the cuff patches and the top of the cuff/branch piping. The NCO tress on your tunic is narrower than that usually used on Waffenrocks, and the application is well below the craftsmanship standards usually encountered. It appears to me that your tunic was intended for an NCO. About the only explanation I have - assuming you are correct and the piping is period applied - is that the tunic was converted from NCO to EM, and then back to NCO (probably by a company tailor.

I had never noticed that! I went back to look at my Waffenrocks and found that my NCO ones are evidently upgrades. The cuffs on all mine measure 7.5 cm (3 in) deep from edge to piping...I presume the cuff is actually wider on your medical Waffenrock to accomodate the tresse. Can you tell me the measurement?

Took some measurements. The enlisted cuffs on my dress tunics measure between 2 3/4" to 3". The private purchase NCO ones (ie, tress doesn't go over the top of the cuff patch) run between 3" to 3 1/2". There are slight variations between all of them. The cuff patches are pretty consistent at 2 1/4". The differences are largely in the distance between the bottom of the patch and the bottom of the cuff.

Here is a photo of the stamp in my NCO Jäger Waffenrock i purchased locally in my town in Germany. Its also named.
The Only difference is its from the 2nd Battalion.
Have there been any advances in information or new places to look regarding the 15th since the OP posted?
Thank you,
Regards, Robert
