    that's a slip on device for a Staff member of a Commander for a rural rearward area (Stab Befehlshaber eines rückwärtigen Gebietes).

        The embroidery and font look more like something seen on W-SS slides, though I am not aware of a lone "B" having been used.

              I agree and this was the Heer designator for the Latin "B" used starting in 1941. That said the photo is not clear enough to discuss the board. The slide to me from this one picture looks okay.
