URGENT - Alte arte tunic authentication and price guidance

Hi gents,

I've just been offered the chance to grab this tunic but for reasons I can't delve into here the opportunity wont stand for long, so I really quickly need guidance on the price for this Nachrichten officers alte arte style tunic. I have the chance to buy it for around 600EUR. Is this a good price or too expensive? The size is quite small. It's missing one button.

I think it's a reasonable price even though I am 99% certain the breast eagle has been reapplied. These aren't the easiest pattern of tunic to find in nice condition and the only thing I think you'll have to contend with is whether you are comfortable with replaced insignia?

I would look closely at the stitching for the collar tabs. In one of the pics it looks like the collar material is sort of bunched up under the lower edge of the tab, rather than being nice and flat. It could just be a shadow or a flimsy collar that is a little wrinkled.

Nonetheless, if you do get it and it needs a little TLC to get it perfect that shouldn't be too hard.

So again, in my opinion 600Euro is pretty reasonable.

This tunic is an "altered" waffenrock - note the seam around the entire waist.

This waffenrock was retailored during the war to resemble an Old Style tunic, and it was nicely done.

Good eye Tim - you're correct, it is a retailored Waffenrock.

A close look at the close-up of the pocket and loops shows it appears to be a different material than the body of the jacket as well.

Still worth the asking price

Thanks for your responses! I totally forgot about the middle seam - a dead give away for converted waffenrocks. It certainly is a nice conversion - fooled me! Unfortunately, I was not able to close a deal with the seller, however I am very grateful for your opinions.
