Price for a tunic in "bad" condition?

Hello, this is my first thread here so I am not sure it is the right forum for this question, I assume it is the right one but you may want to correct me

I am wondering how cheap you can buy a Wehrmacht tunic for, condition is not very important, of course it should not just be a broken piece of cloth but I also do not expect it to be in mint condition? Is it possible to get a original tunic for around 100-300 €?

Welcome to WAF.
Regarding your question ; no way get orginal jacket in decent condition for this kind of money. Even those badly eaten by moths are selling over 1oo euro.

If you want a cheap tunic in good condition i would suggest you to safe a little bit more Money and buy a "Waffenrock".

You can get a nice exmaple for 400€ +/-

If you choose a common example from an infantry unit as an example in low rank it should be possible for this Price.

Okay, I have only being collecting swedish militaria so far so I am not very sure about the differences, but a "Waffenrock" is that like the "parade jacket" without pockets?

And were can I find one of those for that kind of price?

You are right, that is the kind of tunic a waffenrock is.

Take a look regullary here at the stand, there are usually several examples at reasonable prices and you always can ask about them in the uniforms board.

If you are novice, stay away from the majority of on line dealers.

Exactly - here is one example from my old collection - i sold this one some time ago when my interest turned.

"Regular low rank,infantry jackets ,i.e an EM M36 are pricey! Like you,i bought my first tunic 6 months ago.I really wanted an m36,but the prices for nice ones are usually up near the 1000 mark.I got this one on ebay for 430 euro.I probably overpaid,but for some reason,i had to have it!

Sorry,i should have added,that dealers look at 1000 euro for these.Your best bet is to regularly watch the e table here,stay away from ebay,or you also find decent ones for reasonable money on Facebook auction pages.

Unless you're willing and able to save... it would be safe to avoid dealers altogether. As a novice you could be begging for trouble. Always post here before you buy!!! There are of course good dealers but just from what you've said here they're probably going to be a little over your budget.

Best thing to do is be patient. Save. And wait for something that fits your needs and price comes available on the estand. I know that's hard to do when you're itchin for that first tunic, but trust me - It'll be worth it.
