    Volkssturm Zugführer collar tabs

    Hi guys,

I would like your opinions on this pair of collar tabs, intended for a Zugführer of the Volkssturm.

    Thanks

    Best,

    Max

They look a little bit too rectangular for VS...More RAD shape IMO...(with added pips)
        but who knows?
VS tabs are identical to W-SS in shape usually...

I actually agree now that VS also used rectangular as well as regular shaped tabs...(W-SS)
They used everything and even just pips, no tabs...whatever was available!

They could also be for the TENO, after 1942.

Yes I have quite some pictures in my collection showing the pips directly pinned on the tunic/coat's collar.

I just went through them and found these pics with these variations:
                - rectangular tab (no pips, simple Volkssturmann)
                - tabs with piping (silver probably) --> the Kompanieführer on the middle of the group

Great images. Love the tunic shot, wearing what appears to be W-SS shoulderstraps...the regs indicating that no shoulderstraps were to be worn...often ignored!
Its a late war M43 army tunic made in smooth silky Italian tan "Olana" cloth!

Some of the Hitler Youth units that were incorporated into the volkssturm were authorized to wear their shoulder straps.

I agree ! They were also mobilized and attached to Volkssturm, often (if very young)
serving as messenger boys and wore their uniform with full regalia!
They even chose to wear their HJ armbands instead of the official Volkssturm armband! (or one on top of the other, as shown here!!)
