read Scott Pritchett's book "Panzer Feldjacke", Volume One, Heer, Part 1, Pages 288 to 310. He has done a sterling job discussing the diferent types and metals used to make Panzer collar skulls.

Your ones would appear to match the type made from brass and shown on page 293 as Type 1,
