      that shape of skull with the round nose was used during the whole period and was made from different material. Here is one in use:

        I also like the pins on Cliff's skulls

        The way they are attached in a high & low position on each skull matches the "Type 1" example shown on page 293 of Scott's book. Plus the width, point and shape are a match too
