Pioneer "spiess" Waffenrock set up

Hello everybody,

I recently photographed this Pioneer "Spieß" (company sergeant) waffenrock in my collection with better quality photos. I set this up as a pre war set up with SA sports badge, shooting lanyard with one device and a parade mount with Heer 4 and 12 year long service medals. Would love any input or info on this unit! Thank you

Is the tunic unit marked? The device only indicates he would have been Eisenbahn Pioneer or in a Railroad engineering unit.

Thanks Johnny, there are no markings inside that I have found so far. Would these be considered more sought after being railroad related?

They are not as common as uniforms for regular pioneer units but IMO are not especially sought after by collectors like panzer and other more popular branches.

Very nice example of a pre-war Pioneer waffenrock. You don't see as many of these as some other branches such as Infantry, Artillery, etc. A nice peaked cap would complete it! Guess I am prejudiced as I am a retired Civil Engineer (so was Skorzeny!).

Its beautiful! I love the Spiess set up and the Waffenrock looks great. I have two in my collection, and like stated above, infantry is more common and that is what mine are.

Good find! I like the "pre-war" set up.
