    NCO Panzer Waffenrock

    Hi everyone,

This came in today and will be one of the cornerstones of my collection: a NCO Panzer Waffenrock. Opinions please. Note that the Waffen colour is sometimes weird because pictures are taken with flash.
Now I got to dress it up

    Regards, Wim

Your waffenrock is for Panzerjager Battalion 26.

The breast eagle is one I have doubts about.

The used thread doesn't glow under UV light, a good sign?

Wim, looks like a very nice Waffenrock, but I do think the eagle is a reproduction.

Wim - nice waffenrock! In my opinion the breast eagle is original, but it appears it was either post war applied or perhaps restitched in certain areas sometime after the war. The lighter thread used is almost a certainty of this.

I am a beliver that post war thread can be detected with a black light and a keen eye. Post war colorerd thread gives off a cetain hue that thread of the period does not. Some discount this but I have studied it in depth. Keep in mind thread used during the period is available and this only adds to the difficulty of post war detection.

                            Very nice Waffenrock twin.

Another very smart NCO Panzer waffenrock, could almost be the twin of my Waffenrock! Nice. Regards David.

Would this eagle do the job?
