That picture does not help much to understand what it is. It looks like it may be an Austrian tunic used by a man who was later in the Heer?

This type of fabric was used to make light weight tunics during the war but it is hard to tell if this tunic and insignia application is pre 1945 just with these images.

Do you know what was the original use for the tunic and time period? I have not seen one like this before. Is it BGS or Austrian?

In my opinion, no. There are better quality tunics out there.

So this is a summer weight issue BW tunic? I have never seen one in this fabric.

Some kind of light wool , not cotton actually .

It's actually an NCO tunic. The cut of the tunic looks sort of like a war time private purchase summer, Austrian style tunic like the ones made from Russian shelter material but made of a weird, oddly colored light weight wool, gaberdien material? I'm not sure what to think thought but it doesn't give me good vibes. I can say that the shoulder straps are good. Steve
