There are people who feel that tunics like this are an assurance that they are original and will pay almost as much or more for these as collectors who do not collect damaged and poorly preserved items would for a tunic in great condition. Selling stuff like this seems to work well on Ebay and I have seen this at gun shows as well. One of the first things that ever sold on Ebay was a broken printer to a person who "collected broken printers".
