    Prison official collar patches?

Greetings All, received this pair of collar patches and don't recall ever seeing anything like them. The person who sent them to me suggested they were intended for wear by prison officials. Can anyone shed any light on this? thank you.

No one? I don't recall seeing a pair like this. Bullion wire on dark green badge cloth, center bars are a deep red color. Purpose?

Could it be a custom set made for the artillery component of the SS Polizei regiment as used until 1942?
This regiment's officers often used Heer artillery officer litzen OR Polizei pattern litzen with the farbe area redone in red.(tinted?)
Your set is armed forces bottle green backed with the litzen all silver so in a polizei pattern but the center part (customized?) in red
as a sign its related to the artillery regiment? Kind of a hybrid...
OK a wild theory but its such an odd piece...not prison guard related.

Here are both regular unmodified Heer artillery Litzen as used in SS Polizei Division and a Polizei set!
So either army pattern (for their Artillery component) or bone stock Polizei pattern was used!

        Now something entirely different!
A customized Polizei litzen for use in SS Polizei Division Artillery Regiment.
Polizei green backed and very rare! The red was ADDED!
        Customized!

This tab looks like a hybrid...
Inside is Polizei silver but backed on army bottle green and a red farbe appearing in the center??? (artillery?)

Wild theory but who knows? They used all kinds of army and Polizei mixes and their artillery Regimental officers adopted the red for the artillery branch...
wanting to stand out from the regular "polizisten"

PS: some typos in my first post so corrected, please re-read. Thoughts?

            Any other thoughts out there?

Red also used Polizei Batalion Böhmen und Mähren...

If the backing was black, I would say that it look like a pioneer gerchonte quality tabs, that they added red on center bar!!!

Yes that would make perfect sense...waffenrock or geschonte feldbluse pionier officer tabs...if the backing was black in color...Looks black...my initial thought too !
but altering with red inner farbe would still be strange! These are really a curious set! I love such mysteries!
If black forget the Polizei Division artillery theory! If bottle green backed...perhaps...a custom job!

                    Hello Mike,

I am no expert, but I have this photo of an Oberstabsarzt with what to me looks like the same style of tabs as your are presenting..?..

So maybe it is just a variant..?..or tabs destined for a waffenrock just used on a normal tunic..?..so yours should be arty..?..(if it is that color..?)

So is the backing in M36 bottle green? or "Pionieren" black? Not entirely clarified...it will help solve this riddle!
Hard to tell on my monitor...if black, forget my Polizei Artillery theory! Modified engineers!

The tunic in the photo is a piped service tunic- the tabs are medical blue like a waffenrock.
