copies....Historical Militaria in Italy sell these antiqued two tone style tabs for 40 euros.

I’m not sure I would write them off so quickly. I mean, they certainly aren’t ‘pretty’ by some standards but they don’t totally suck either. I would want to see more imagery.

I note over on Mike’s site that there are a couple of sets shown that anyone might say are as poorly executed as the subject tabs. The featured Kuno-Hans von Both tab and the pair below it show similarities such as closed inner loops and no balls.

So, while they wouldn’t be my first choice for quality of workmanship, I wouldn’t toss them in a junk drawer either.

I don't like both sets

I don't like them either. They are not well made nor typical when you compare them to original numerous WW2 general officers' portrait photo's. These just don't have the quality that one would expect for a general officer's collar tab. Yes there are always exceptions like late war immediate required field made or foreign made collar tabs, but without strong provenance, I would pass on these.

I would not feel confortable with any of both sets. The quality is very poor and lack the quality I would expect.
