Today's finds-Shoulderboards but what is the G for?

I went to our gun show today and found these boards. They are infantry and I tried looking for what the G stood for but I was unable to find any info.
The boards are stiff and have that been there feel.
I put up photos to make sure they are original.

I don't know what the paper is for. Notice the green residue by the prong.

The "G" device is meant to signify the W-SS Rgt. "Germania", whether they are original or not is another question. You should probably post them on the SS Forum.
I like the KM marked cartridge pouches.

It looks like a G rather than a D to me. But if you think it's SS I will post it there too.
              Thanks

I still posted them on the SS forum. You may be right.
That would explain the SS tunic the man had.

I'm having trouble seeing the boards for their actually color. Is it on green material or gray? If gray then it would be Luftwaffe HG division. I can't attest to the "G" Cypher.

I took these photos today in sunlight. It's the best my camera can do.
                      Black top, green underside.

Great set of Waffen-SS Regiment Germania Oberscharfeuhrer boards! And he had a tunic too?

Yes he did. However I know little of what to look for in wool tunics.
                          It had moth damage.
The boards were in another case and I bought then as Heer infantry.
I recall the tunic did not have a cuff title.

I know nothing about Waffen SS straps so i am curious to know; Is the backing material of the tongues shown above accepted as original?

Because we had reviewed in the past tropical straps with the similar (if not identical) fabric and it was not accepted.

I will search my archive to find the pair i am referring to.
