    Identification bands

Please forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere on this forum, but I was seeking photographs of the identification armbands worn on the reversible winter uniform, as well, I suppose, on the white coverall too. Were these issued with the parka, or were they given out separately? I have the idea that they were blue on one side and red on the other, but I've no idea why I think that. Were other colors used? Did the Soviets use a similar system as well? Please help...I know virtually nothing about this item that is neither quite "Uniform" nor "insignia".

    Thanks,

    Dave

I would like to know if these were used on the western front.

Hi David, they were not issued with the parka to the best of my knowledge? I am not sure about the colours used. I know that we have talked about these before and I made a reply within the thread but I now cannot find it.

The Red Army did not use this system.

Not sure about useage on the Western Front. I would imagine it would have been very limited.

      Cheers, Ade.
