Is it simply a fake or do you think some material applied post war?
I have tested with UV light and all thread and yarn looks negative reaction.

The fieldgrey material and the linnen of the tongue are original stuff. And the pips, but thats it, imo.
Complete construction is wrong.

Hello,

It appears to me that the majority of the shoulder board is original. It has a machine sewn button hole on the bottom and a hand sewn button hole on top. If you look closely on the top you can see a lump where the machine button hole is. I believe that the top was replaced and tress put on to cover it up.

cant agree Fred. The buttonholes are not original, imo. But you are correct, there is a little chance that the core was an original board some times. Are there 2 different bottle green materials at the top? One end under the silver litzen, the other is sewn together with the tongue?
