If you guys watch the military channel at all there is a great clip of Hitler reviewing some high ranking officers and there is a officer wearing a wrapper identical to the one pictured...IDENTICAL!!! I have seen that clip probably a dozen times over the past couple years, it's really neat. Alex

As the war progressed, it became more of widely issued uniform article than just for StuG personnel use. There are Fotos of veterinary personnel wearing wrappers and the 1. Ski-Division was issued them, I believe.

Recce units usually had light and medium AFVs, so they would use the same kind of uniforms as panzer or StruG units depending if vehicles were open or closed.
