    Mountain Troop Edelweiß Insignia

    Hi guys,

I bought this Edelweiß insignia over the past weekend at a local military show. The last time I owned one of these was about forty two years when I first started collecting. It was one of the first things I ever bought. When I saw this at the show it brought back good memories so I had to get it. Hope you like it.

    Best regards,
    Tom

        Hi Marcel,

Thanks for responding. The one I had forty some years ago was a Gustav Brehmer marked "G.B. 42".

        Best regards,
        Tom

Sounds like a nice collection. I may have to get a few more myself.

            Best regards,

Here is a type that is not seen too often. I am not certain, though, whether or not this type is an accepted original. It does have a straight stem and five holes typical of the TR Period originals.

              Best regards,
              Tom

Looks like a nice unused original.

I just bought this one a few days ago. It is maker marked to Funcke & Brüninghaus of Lüdenscheid. This example is struck in iron and magnetic.

                    Best regards,
                    Tom

Here is the maker marking. Some of the earlier pieces struck by this firm will also have the letter 'L' as part of the logo.
