    Uniform of Oberstleutnant Ewald Heinrici

I had picked up this tunic last fall and had been waiting for a visor and breeches to display it with. Here's the finished product. Heinrici served in IR. 62 in the First World War and was Kommandeur of I./84 IR in 1939 as a Major dR, winning the Spangen to his WWI Iron Crosses. After that, he apparently transitioned to Panzergrenadier units and served in training roles. Heinrici died in Soviet captivity in July 1945.

The tunic is a converted Waffenrock, and since I am a sucker for Waffenrocks, I thought it was pretty neat as they obtained a perfect fabric match for the pockets.

A stunning display! I wonder if he was related to Gotthard Heinrici?

Gotthard's family tree is pretty well established - no Ewalds that I could find!

Superb uniform, love this early tunic cut and style, the tall collar and long french cuff give that transitional style link from the late Imperial to the new style and cut of the modern Wehrmacht, stunning display, the fact that have the officer name make it even more interesting and desiderable for me.

Very nice, I almost bought that one but you had more guts to deal with the mailing saga from Eastern Europe Congratulations.
