Original hat eagle pin?

Hello,
I have no idea about these pins and not even sure if it's a hat pin. I bought a m43 field cap which I later found out was a West German military ski cap and it was thought the pin which was mounted on it was original WWII period. Can anyone tell me if it looks original, what it was originally a pin on, and what is value might be? I didn't notice any markings on it.

Classical zinc cap badge for the german Army or Navy .
I see some rests of gold colour ? Then Navy .
Value : 40usd is a current one in this condition .

Thank you Nick. Goldish/Copper color is what I see in the light I have it in now. For whatever reason someone had put it on this field cap, which i was informed by members was a West German field cap. And after more research I found it to be a West German Army ski cap.
