    Heer Sniper/Combat Soldier Display

    Hi Guy's

I am snowed in today and finally had the chance to put this display together. The Army smock recently came from a Canadian Vets estate sale.
It really is painfull sometimes dressing these things

It would be nice to see other smocks if you have the time.

It could be painfull to set it up, but the result is simply outstanding

      Cheers

I would say that appears to be a fine model of a harbinger of death, rather than a thing of beauty. My wife would slap me if I thought these were beautiful.Very nice display.

My friend in Europe just offered to sell me his "sniper smock" and I was wondering if these were it? Or are these "just" heer winter jackets....

                          John,
To be a bit more accurate these are called smocks. We like to add the term sniper to a few things in this hobby,

Yes Micheal Indeed your right but we call them in europe sniper smocks
This means not that every type of this smoke was used by a sniper
Maybe that is simpler to say then a sumph smock with hood
There are also smocks produced without the hood in sumph/tarn
                            we call them also smocks
Also the splintern version also called smock(without hood)

So your indeed right on this one ,but I think if some european collector
talks about a sniper smock he talks about this one
sigpicalways seeking = BEVO Cap and breast insignia

Other than what John has mentioned I think the fact that they are deemed by collectors as snipers smocks is because of the camoflauge face veil which are often attached to the hoods of these..
