Very nice pair of trouser for cavalry troops. I have the equivalent model 35 trouser in light grey color.

These were issued for all mounted troops, not just cavalry. Most units had horses, especially transport and Artillery. These trousers also were worn by unmounted troops/officers. Nice example.

Nice score. I own 2 sets, in regular wool like your example and a pair in later Italian smooth wool.
Johhny is of course accurate with his statement, mounted does not mean exclusive to cavalry. Most Heer units were not fully mechanized
(see non cavalry image example) and also such rugged breeches could have also been used by officers for field wear, as mentioned already.
These breeches are of course usually advertised as mounted breeches for cavalry use...
