"Großdeutschland" CT on Kelly Hicks site

    Hi to everyone...
I'd be curious to have some opinions on this GD CT...(Kelly Hicks site),
    http://ss-steel-inc.com/cloth_gallery_page_2.html
It's a mix between the first and third pattern and it let me puzzled..honestly I've never seen one before.....
What does the "forum" think? is an original one-of -a-kind or......
    All my best
    Giorgio

    Hi Giorgio,
I am not a fan of this cufftitle. I would pass.
    Thank you,
    Curtiss

I would like to see some better pictures of it and without the I would not buy it.
Not a "one looker" piece of course, but materials and construction look believable.

      My books:

      - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
      - THE SS TK RING
      - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
      - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
      - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

      and more!

There are other photos on the site, & I am sure Mr. Hicks would be willing to provide additional photos as well.

That is not the correct cufftitle for an early Grossdeutschland parade tunic. The breast eagle is not the right type either.

But then again it is being presented as an officer tunic so who knows.

A big leap of faith to put this thing in ones collection. Not for me.
              Looking for a 30 '06 Chauchat magazine.

Interesting that the C.G. also has one of these; http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Heer/photos/H062074.html

The last one is a correct first pattern.....
                  No problem with this...

I agree with Giorgio, no problem with a "GD" first pattern CT, it is perfectly fine.

                        Very similar

A very similar CT will be auctioned at "Ratisbon's".
                        IMO a freaky coincidence.

That on Ratisbon's is closer to the 5th pattern (and I would discuss it as well..)
Attached a comparison with a 5th pattern I consider original.
                          Regards

The Guild tunic is an enlisted tunic with correct enlisted insignia. The tunic seems to be correct, but I must confess that I have not handed a GD parade tunic for years.

The tunic on Kelly Hicks' site is an officer's tunic. Were GD officers authorized hand embroidered bullion insignia for the parade tunics? I think I remember reading that they were. If that is true, the insignia may well be correct. Having said that, the cuff title does seems a little sloppy, and merits a closer look.
