General jacket & 43 cap insignias for opinion

    Hi all,

I would like to know your opinions about this jacket and 43 cap insignias for general.

Sorry for the quality of the photos ....

    And many thanks to all

The collar patches are bad, very bad. The eagle is not a general quality eagle. Not a real Heer Generalmajor uniform. The tunic looks original, but not a pre 1945 tunic
    Just my opinion

The shoulder boards are not really doing it for me either. I am not an expert on the Demjansk shield, but that one seems to be lacking in detail. IMO, it is a humped-up original tunic.

        Fantasy General Uniform

I don't like it. The Demjansk Shield is a post war version based on the shape of the "J". In the other part of the forum designated for the shields you will see example after example of these repro's. I got burnt on the exact same repro shield some years ago. The breast eagle and collar insignia's are poorly made. Even at the end of the war, these items still were made of quality. Yes, one could argue they are late war field made insignia's (very unlikely though) but with the post war Demjansk shield and new looking shoulder boards, I would stay away from this uniform. I can't comment on the hat.

Just clarify my statement. The tunic is a real pre 1945 tunic, but not an original general major tunic

Yes, in my humble opinion it is not an original German general uniform. The pictures are poor for the tunic, but I do not see any red flags that would indicate it is not a pre 45 officer tunic. The spange may be good, but I would run it across the Iron Cross experts of the WA forum. The buttons could be original general buttons based on what I see of the pebble pattern, but you would also need to see the back of the button. If the button are original WW2 general buttons and appear original to the tunic, the best one could hope for would be an original stripped down general tunic with reapplied post war insignias. Realistically the odds are against that because all of the general repro's/fakes uniforms in circulation. So to me it just looks like a stripped down officer tunic with possibly original buttons and a questionable spange and shoulder boards. Again that is my opinion, and there are others on this forum that are much more knowledgeable than I am and will give a more accurate assessment.

I agree but with pictures like this is very hard to say anything really about specifics. If someone was trying to sell me a high ranking tunics like this and sent these images I would immediately think there is a problem with an item. This was the owners cat-

Thanks all for your comments, I agree with the lack of quality of the photos.

And it will stay where it is.
