M44 tunic with late war embroidered eagle

    Hi guys,

Just received this one yesterday and I think it's in good way to become my favourite tunic !

A previous owner has already posted it back in 2007 but I thought I would post it again as I made more detailed pictures. Tunic is made of Italian wool. Only one type of thread has been used to sew the entire tunic, including the collar tabs and the breast eagle, which has been sewn before the breast pockets. The markings are faded but I would guess E44 for the Erfurt depot.

    Comments welcome and appreciated!

    Best,

    Max

Nice tunic and a type of eagle not common to be encountered on M44 tunics (also nice with the T-stitching).

I like it as well. M-44 tunics are interesting for the variety of materials used (including different shades of Feldgrau 44) and the variety of eagles used and their application. This one, with Italian Army wool and the ersatz embroidered eagle, is representative of that.

Perfect, low-ranked, field worn jacket that hasn't been restored or monkeyed with. That's a classic!

                        regards, Robert
