Help needed on a Panzer cap eagle

Some help please on a Heer M34 style cap eagle I have had for a long time (so what?? ). It appears to be the same style as the one found on the side cap on page 8 of Wade Krawczyk's book, "Army Panzer Uniforms in Colour Photographs". I think it is OK, how about you?

    thanks

Hi Marty, looks good to me.

I heard that a lot of these unissued white ones were found a while back.

Now, if anyone's got a grey one, please let me know

    Cheers
    Ben

      Marty:
Maybe it is the way it is positioned in the photo, but the upper curves of the wings do not look symmetrical/matching. Also, the feet look unusual to me...I am suspecting it may be bad, but would rather see a better scan of it. I just cannot say for certain from what I see here. In any case, it has been sewn post war to whatever it is on from the looks of it.

Ben I think you have a different eagle The feet and the breast of the eagle are Asymetrical.

                    Scott and John,
If you have the book army Panzer Uniforms in Colour Photographs by Wade Krawczyk, which I think is a great reference on Panzer uniforms and insignia: take a look at page 8 and look at the eagle on that cap. I may scan a picture of it later, but I don't know if I need Wade's permission. Maybe he will see this thread and comment. Anyway this eagle is postwar applied (good eye Scott) on a 1970s era reenactor's panzer cap. The thing is, many of these made up hats back then had original insignia put on because they were so plentiful in the 70s. I happen to see the eagle in Wade's book and I thought "hey I've got that one" and so I dug it out. My next question is, was there an eagle of this style for the Panzer side cap?

                    thanks for the comments

                    Marty

Hi Marty, I'm looking on page 8 of his book and yes the cap shown in his book has the same eagle with the one posted here by your self. I'm preaty soor that the cap shown in his book is 100% original. Now, as for that particular eagle after reading this thread I'm confused is it a fake after all or what?

Here are two for comparison sake,an Army and a Panzer. The one on Marty's cap looks crudely made.
