Officer gloves

Hi,
I want some advice about Heer officer gloves, I want to get a pair and have seen some in Kai Winklers shop History Shop. He sells ones that aren't leather but rather material, he has thin and thick materials. Are these correct for officers or NCOs? Are there other sources where one could find some apart from eBay.de?

Officer gloves were available for puchase in a variety of materials and shades arguing degrees of quality, lined and unlined. The style you see for sale from time to time on various dealer sites are generally correct for the period. However, there are a lot of clear post-war examples for sale as well. Unless there is a war time stamping on the interior of the gloves - which few retain - then if they were used by an officer or general could be anybody's guess. Gloves were worn by the entire population, and worn by ex-military after the war during their civilian years.

So if you're dead set on a true Heer set, wait for a marked pair. Otherwise any period pair to go with a uniform works well for display.

Thank you GS for your comment, though my question was a double barrel one about materials and sources to buy them from. Your comment about flea markets is a good one and lucky for you, you're in Europe, here in Australia you are not likely to find German officer gloves at "flea markets".

Also, I did send you a pm with the answer to the question you asked, about Kai Winklers prices and also asked you for assistance, perhaps you didn't get my pm.

Nevertheless I asked here not to be ripped off but to be helped, i thought this was the whole point of having a community forum of people with similar interests.

Thank you J for your answer. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I don't own a pair (obviously) but have seen some that look more supple than others, old film makes it hard to determined the materials and books also don't always tell you the whole picture. I mainly asked because I know that a lot of them were made of wildleder/nappa but then I saw History Shop selling some of thinner or thicker material (not leather) in gray colour, so wanted to know whether these were accurate and also for general use or parade use only.
