    Signals HBT tunic stamp

I have a HBT tunic in my possession with the stamp W Wessel Amsterdam.
Is this something special? I haven't seen it before.
I'm not really into collecting uniforms so my knowledge is limited

Not commenting on the tunic itself but a stamp like that would normally be for a manufacturer. Sometimes you also see examples where an owner (soldier) or after the War a collector stamped a tunic. These usually will have the full mailing address etc.

Just with basic research, the name matches a manufacturer in Amsterdam in 1940. This is link to a 1940 article in a textile industry periodical for companies producing "Kledung en Uitrusting" or clothing and equipment. It pertains to a specific contract but it shows that it was a company was there.

Ok thanks. I did make time to look it up but I couldn't find much more info.
Now I know it's nothing special.

I think it is special to uniform collectors looking for items made in occupied countries!
