The ribbon is not attributed to the tunic, no. This was mentioned in the auction thread I found on this tunic last night after searching a bit. It is said that the tunic and pants were acquired from Schwedlers family. The bar was added.
It was brought to my attention from an experienced collector that the tailor labels in this jacket are fake....I did find it kind of unusual that they are both hand applied,so they have been added to "up the price"

Thank you very much for this information Glenn. This is exactly why I wanted this tunic discussed prior to buying.
You might be right about the eagle. Close inspection would prove if there are any previous holes visible. Naturally it is also a bit loose for such a high end quality tunic. As for the nametag,...i guess that such typewriter inscriptions are much easyer to be faked as handwritten ones so yes, you need to take such facts in consideration. Where did the other items from auction disappear?
These labels to me are like aspartame. I have never liked them. Most of the originally applied AB labels I have seen are different and machine sewn. The typed labels like this I have seen since the 1980s are almost always for a high ranking, historically important persons, famous RKTs in TR history which makes for a pattern of odd coincidences.
I remember it on auction and not liking the set then.
I had looked hard at this set when it came up on the RIA auction but I just did not have a good gut feeling about it for some of the reasons already put forth by Kurt and GM. I do think the insignia is all original, but I suspect it was added to an artillery piped tunic.
I contacted Glenn and was not clear in my explanation, I did not tell him the labels were fake, I do not know that. What I do know is that that they appear with typed names and are always like the ones posted usually in questionable tunics. The known period examples tend to be darker, machine sewn and hand written. Labels were sometimes added to tunics that were modified or upgraded and hand sewn but with these it does not appear to be the case.
