This came from a widow of a man that I met a few times, but lived in my local community. I did not really know him and do not know her, I just want to do the best by both of them as Im can. I feel it is my duty as the last real collector/seller in this area. I will not be the seller of these products, I just need to know the value in this market.

If this is a good uniform, could some one/anyone pm me the lowest retail value. I want to help this person out, but am tired of losing money on estate buys.
Prices are going down and no one wants to admit it.

Original first pattern tropical jacket with re-applied insignia ( the eagle is typical continental breast eagle while should be tropical ). Pretty bad about this glue stain on sleeve. Shoulderbords doesn't look good. I will leave estimating the value to others.

It appears to be an original first pattern tropical tunic (as already stated), the Blitz is likely glued on as was a chevron (hopefully the glue is water based and can be removed). The eagle and tabs have also been replaced and the shoulder boards are incorrect (sadly the bridles may have been removed).

I guess you are right with blitz being glued ( the very dark area in the center and very ligth color on the edges ). Let's hope that remains of glue are removable without damaging the cloth.

Soak the sleeve & patch in finger nail polish remover. It will lift the glue from the fabric and you will not hurt either the patch or the jacket. Use fresh tap water on the inside of the sleeve so it flows through the fabric forcing the softened glue into the sink. You may use a soft bristle tooth brush to gently work off the glue from the outside (work from the outside towards the center as not to spread the glue residue outward). This technique has been used for years by myself and a friend to remove all types of glue from the reverse of US patches etc removed from scrapbooks. It does work if done properly.
