I take it this is a Luftwaffe unit?

It was a LW light flak unit that was formed in France and deployed to the east in 1942 where it fought with several flak divisions. It remained in the east for the rest of the war. The truck has a LW license plate. Jim

Thank you, was wondering if the enameled badge shown was intended to be worn on the field cap. I am unfamiliar with this practice among Luftwaffe formations except for Schimpf and Meindl badges.

The bear or "Berlin Bear" insignia was used by more than one division. The 3. Panzer and 293. Infanterie are two of them. Nice finds! In April and Mai 1945, the 3. Panzer was in Steiermark. The 1. Panzer was in Oesterreich Mai 1945.

I got this pin, it could be from the 347. Infanterie-Division.
On the back it says "Bremen".
The 347. ID was made in 1942 from personnel of Wehrkreis X and XI.
Bremen was in Wehrkreis X.
(The camera makes the pin more shiny then it is).

Any thoughts?

It is about ground troops, mostly Heer with some Fallschirmjaeger. The book is 80 pages with photo examples and drawings of divisional insignia.

So I see these mushroom traditions badges fairly routinely, but why are they always ground dug and missing the pin?
