Heer NCO tresse on HBT tunic collars

All,
Wikipedia states that tresse was typically not worn by NCOs on the collar of M40 or later HBT tunics.
While I can certainly understand that this may have occasionally occured, was this really typical for these tunics?

Wikipedia did not write the regulations for the German Army!! A good start is UNIFORMS AND TRADITION OF THE GERMAN ARMY" by Angolia and Schlicht.

Both those statements are wrong for the Army. Wikipedia is not a great source for anything. Students try to use it all the time and it is full of errors and misinformation.

For many years his Army book was the book and the only real overall reference for the Heer.

I agree Johnny;
The book first came out in the early '70s when I had a very minor interest
in insignia. I was greatly impressed by the color charts of Heer shoulder straps
on pgs 26 & 27, and was inspired to collect them.
That was over 40 years ago, and my interest has never waned.
Anyone collecting Heer insignia should own a copy of this book!
