We have described the original cuff title as a "flat gold" color.

It must have been "awarded" after completion of training. I have several photos of my mother in full uniform in training and the ladies are not wearing the cuff title except for their "leader".

This helps me distinguish the differences.

From what she told me she spent most of her time in what I think would be spelled her Kittel.

Shameful plug. Patricks help was instrumental in making this possible.

I wish this book had been finished a few months ago... I would have loved to have shared it with my mother.

              Was Patrick an author?

                Brian,

So sorry to hear about your mother. Please accept my belated condolences.

I am pretty happy about how the book turned out and look forward to seeing it after the editors get through with it. I think it does justice to the contributions and sacrifices that the Wehrmacht Helferinnen made during the war. There is a lot of never before published text and a great selection of photographs. As is true with so many areas concerning this period of history it doesn't answer all the questions but I give it a good shot.

Patrick gave me full access to his wonderful collection of female clothing/insignia and wartime photos. Without his help the book would have been average at best.

                WR Jim

Darn I wish I could have given you a few photos of my mother. She ended up at Kolding. Went through Hamburg on her way, on July 24th, 1943, she spent the night there...

                    Brian,

                    E MAIL me at

                    pzrgtgd@hotmail.com

The editing process hasn't started yet so I can still add photos. I'm sure I can get at least one or more of her into the book. So please send me the pics at the highest rez possible at least 350 DPI for standard post card size pictures and higher rez for small pictures.

I will need to get you to sign a letter of release and maybe some help with a caption.

                    WR Jim

It will be perfect to pass on to my son so he sees what they did, how they dressed, and some real photos of the ladies.
